Welcome to class day 19 of Aural Theory Intensive!

Start, as always, with breath-counting.

Today's class will explore another compound interval, and attempt to help you distinguish ninth, seventh, and seconds from each other. There's a lot of practice in that video, with a bit of discussion of tips for hearing then 10 examples of melodic intervals with immediate feedback, then 10 with delayed feedback, and 10 harmonic intervals with delayed feedback In our next sessions, all intervals will be presented, compound and simple alike, just as in the exam.

The second part of today's class is two examples for 2-part dictation practice. I've decided to give two examples per day, one day per week, to get you to the level you need to be for passing the exam. The examples get progressively more difficult, and closer to the exam level. Complete all of them, and you'll be ready to pass the exam.

Part 3 presents a rhythm of similar difficulty to the exam.

Part 4 is one more day of the practice variety of dealing with scale and mode identification. Future classes will present those, as with other items, in the manner of the exam, that is without knowing the answers until all have been played.
