SEA

Exploring the way music creates magic in our minds...

About the SEA (Sound Energy Aggregate).

This site will grow in spurts, with the aim of explaining the Sound-Energy Aggregate theory, its origins and potential value, its role as an analytical tool, and its life in courses in musical analysis taught by John Morrison.

On January 2, 2017, I have added a new version of the paper to the site. The original paper as delivered at the SEAMUS national conference in 2001 remains available as well.

On a separate site, I’ve begun a blog of my thoughts on the subject of contemplating music, something that is closely related to the SEA theory and analysis, but not identical to it.

Thanks for visiting, and please be in touch if you have thoughts or comments!
